What we do
Three points. One purpose.
The three points of the trident in our mark stand for the three things Trident does — for the tradesperson being assessed, and for every organisation relying on the result.
Left point
Comparison
See how real experience measures up against industry standards — so everyone knows exactly where a tradesperson stands.
Centre point
Recognition
Skills and experience, independently verified and formally recognised — not just self-claimed.
Right point
Pathways
A clear route to qualification, registration and the work that comes next — with support the whole way.
How we work
Six stages, from first enquiry to issued profile.
Every engagement follows the same documented path. It is built around units of competency — the same standards an RTO assesses against — so an outcome report means the same thing to an employer, a training organisation and a regulator.

Trident is a conduit for assessment, not a certifying body. We compare experience against the relevant units of competency, document the outcome, and recommend a pathway — including recognition of prior learning and any gap training identified. Qualifications, registration and licences are issued by Registered Training Organisations and the relevant regulators.
Who we serve
One assessment, four audiences.
An outcome report is written once and read by everyone who needs it — with the trade client controlling who sees what.
Trade employers
Know what someone can actually do before they start — verified capability, current tickets and insurance, in one place.
Registered Training Organisations
Applicants arrive with evidence already gathered and aligned to units of competency, so RPL and gap training can be scoped quickly.
Regulators
Consistent, documented assessment against published criteria — supporting licensing, registration and mutual recognition decisions, with less duplicated evidence to process.
Trade participants
Years on the tools turned into evidence you own and control — carried and shared through TRADePASS.
Our client-facing service
TRADePASS is what the assessment becomes.
The final stage of every engagement is an issued profile. TRADePASS is the app and card that carries it — a verified trade profile the client controls, shared by a single QR scan and kept current over a career.

Your future in your hands.
Because every trade career is built one decision at a time.
Choose to get involved
Years on the tools already count for something. Getting them recognised starts the day someone puts their hand up.
Choose to take personal responsibility
Nobody else can log the hours or vouch for the work. Your profile, your evidence, your call on who sees it.
Choose to look for opportunity
The better job, the next ticket, the higher rate. Being ready is what turns a chance into work.
We will support you through your journey.
About Trident
Built by assessors, for the trades.
Trident Trade Profiles was founded by David Connors, who spent a decade as a technical assessor with the Victorian Building Authority — now the Building and Plumbing Commission — to December 2025. Assessments are carried out by the business principals and their fellow subject matter experts, all of whom have worked in the trades they assess.
Australia has roughly 600,000 skilled tradespeople, and a great many of them have the capability but not the paperwork. At the same time, defects keep costing the industry: waterproofing alone accounts for an estimated $4 billion a year in Australian insurance costs. Tick-box compliance has not closed that gap. Assessing what someone can actually do, against published units of competency, is a better answer for everyone.
We are starting with the structural trades where the risk is highest — carpentry, bricklaying and blocklaying, concreting, waterproofing and roof plumbing — and expanding from there. The business is working toward ISO accreditation of its assessment processes.
